As skin ages, it loses collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, leading to the development of wrinkles and laxity. Primaeva’s first product is a minimally invasive fractional bipolar radiofrequency (RF) device designed for the treatment of aging skin. The product will be launched in 2009.

With the Primaeva system, treatment temperature is preselected and energy is delivered directly within the dermis using patented, proprietary technology that eliminates the uncertainty associated with the location of energy delivery — while protecting the epidermis and adnexal structures. The fractional delivery pattern leaves untreated tissue surrounding treatment zones to produce the optimal clinical outcome.

Predictable and superior outcomes are achieved with Primaeva’s Intelligent Feedback System (IFS™) with precise dermal targeting. Sensors embedded in the system provide real-time feedback of skin temperature and tissue impedence within the treatment zone, overcoming the variability of patient response due to differences in tissue characteristics. This ensures that appropriate clinical endpoints of peak temperature and time–at–temperature are reached but not exceeded, delivering consistent and superior clinical outcomes.
